Think twice before Replacing Your Agent With The Internet
New technology is everywhere but buyers and/or sellers should think twice before replacing your agent with the internet! With the influx of new technology and web-based solutions, it isn’t a surprise that everything is moving fast into the era of the internet. As a society, we are conditioned to expect quick service and easily accessible information. From sites like Uber to Grubhub, we generally can pull up our phones or laptops to order what we want with ease.
Simplifying is ok but beware
The simplification of paperwork is certainly appreciated by agents and buyers/sellers alike. However, the attempt of replacing the agent by sites like Zillow and other third party resources can lead to a snowball effect of disaster. The data online is an oversimplified version and this can be very misleading. All buyers should be aware of the seriousness of fully understanding the legalities, contracts, and processes. Purchasing a home is super exciting and most buyers will start their search online. There is a lot more to the sale of the home then just agreeing on a number.
Tools on the internet are just that “Tools”
Buyers and/or sellers should keep in mind digging through the internet for real estate related information is to only give you a “General Idea” of the market. Call your favorite agent after you have found the perfect house. Your agent will take a closer look at the market and will provide you with more details that a simple website can not provide. There are so many issues that can present themselves during the transaction. An experienced agent deals with these issues all the time and they will go the extra mile for you. We aren’t in an age just yet where technology can do everything professionals do. Think twice before Replacing Your Agent With The Internet.
